Tail Talk
Rollo has learned to control his tail now. Well, mostly. You can tell a lot about a lemur by watching it's tail, they wrap it around themselves, groom it, flick it, stroke it. Rollo hasn't got complete control yet, I wonder if maybe it's like having a lisp! He can bounce now and loves to jump up and down on his toy, it's about 8 times bigger than he is. He can be sound asleep, but as soon as I start thinking about it, he pops awake and checks me out. When I started writing this he was all tucked up and sleeping, but now he is watching me for clues. It must confuse him a bit that I don't have a tail! Maybe he feels sorry for me, poor deprived human!
I've been sitting here typing for over an hour, how did he know when I started writing about him? Nothing changed except my thoughts. Now he's trilling to me and ready to play. We haven't figure out quite how to do that, since he's only as big as my hand. I bounce it across the cage at him, and he looks puzzled. Hmm, maybe if I paint stripes on one of my fingers, so it looks like his tail?
Agggh, the pride is trying to break the door down, it's feeding time. I'd better go feed the beasts before I start looking like a gazelle to them!
